My Thoughts on Life

Time doesn’t heal…

Time doesn’t heal…

Time heals all wounds they say. No, that’s not true. Time is like a bandage. It covers the wound, but it doesn’t heal it.

A Gorilla is Dead, but a Child Still Lives

(Picture from dailymail.co.uk) I’m sure most of you have heard about the incident at the Cincinnati Zoo this past weekend. I wasn’t there, but like millions of others, have only read articles of what others say happened. Apparently, on Saturday, May 28, a 4-year-old boy […]

Moms have rough days too…

Moms have rough days too…

Sometimes God uses every day situations to minister to us. Sometimes they’re happy situations, sometimes they’re ones that aren’t so happy…at first. I had one of the “not so happy” situations a few weeks ago. It was our second to last night in Japan, and […]

Sleep regression zzz….

Sleep regression zzz….

I’m baaaack! It’s been a pretty crazy month, but things are settling down and we’re getting back into our normal, blessed, everyday life. As you may remember, we went to Japan for 2 weeks over Christmas and New Years. It was a wonderful 2 weeks […]

Merry Christmas! 🎄

Merry Christmas! 🎄

We’re smack dab in the middle of the holidays which is an incredibly busy time. There’s decorating to do, cookies to bake, presents to shop for, parties to plan and attend, and so much more in between. Timothy and I have talked about how […]

I’ve got it all under control. Maybe not…

I’ve got it all under control. Maybe not…

One of my biggest struggles is letting go and letting God.

He created the universe and everything in it. Why do I think I can do a better job at orchestrating my life than He can?

I know that He sees details of certain situations and I don’t.

I know that His timing is always right.

I know that He has my best interests at heart.

But sometimes I still step in His way and take control.

Basically, I find myself telling God I can do a better job than He can do.

I’m wrong 100% of the time.

Why do kids always want what they can’t have?

Why do kids always want what they can’t have?

God sets up safety barricades for us, to keep us from harm.

The life on the other side may LOOK like more fun at times.

We may get bored doing the things we’re supposed to be doing.

We may inch closer and closer to the fence to see what’s happening over there.

We may want what we can’t have.

That’s when a choice is to be made.

13 things I’ve learned since becoming a mom

13 things I’ve learned since becoming a mom

1. The bed won’t get made every day. 2. The baby will dirty his diaper 2 minutes after you put a clean one on. 3. As soon as you pick up toys, your child will drop whatever he’s doing to come dump them out again. […]
